PURPOSE:To enable both lathing by a cutting tool and cutting by a rotary tool to be simultaneously carried out, by installing a lathe and a machine tool provided with a rotary tool, which are independent from each other, on the front and rear sides of a pair of columns, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A rotary table 6 is rotated at high speed after a pallet 9 on which a work W is previously mounted outside of the machine, is laid on the table 6 and set by means of a first clamper 10, and then a cutter setting rod 15 is lowered for lathing the work W with the use of a cutting tool. The work W which is still carried on the pallet 9, is transferred to an intermediate bed 30, and then transferred to an indexing table 20. Under this condition a table 20 is set by a second clamper 21, and the work W is cut by means of a rotary tool 27 while a saddle 18 is moved. |
