PURPOSE:To connect an optical fiber and a plug quickly with good degrees of coupling by providing a hole slightly larger than the diameter of the fiber to the plug, and inserting the fiber therein, then drawing the plug and aligning the axial center of the plug to the axial center of the optical fiber by the plastic deformation of the hole. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber core 2 removed of cladding is inserted into the fine hole at the preceding end of a plug 3, and a rotary handle 19 of a drawing rotor is rotated in such a way that the preceding end of the plug coincides with the preceding end of a projecting part 13 like a thin walled cylinder. The mortar-like recess 18c of the drawing rotor 18 is engaged with the part 13 and when the rotor 18 is further pressed to the part 13, said part is deformed plastically along the axial center of the plug 3 in the recess 18c, whereby said part is press stuck uniformly around the core 2. The core 2 is thus located accurately at the axial center of the plug 3, and is stuck and held in the part 13. |
