PURPOSE:To attain cost-down, by branching a picture signal into signals for facsimile transmission and character recognition, and executing the facsimile transmission and character recognition in parallel. CONSTITUTION:The picture signal photoelectrically converted at an input section 1 is fed to a picture signal holding and branching section 2. The picture signal is branced into the signals for facsimile transmission and character recognition at the section 2, and stored in the 1st line buffer section 21 and the 2nd line buffer section 22. The line buffer section 21 outputs the picture signal to an encoding section 3 in a facsimile device 71. The encoding section 3 inputs a picture signal 105 for encoding. The encoded signal 113 is modulated at a modulating section 4 and outputted to a line 115 via a line control section 5. Further, a recognizing section 8 of an OCR system device 72 cuts out character patterns for one character's share from the line buffer section 22 and inputs it as the character pattern 112 for the recognition. The result of recognition is given to a recognizing control section 9 as the character code and the section 9 transmits the character code to an auxiliary storage section 10. |
