PURPOSE:To prevent a danger such as a fire in the event of break of a diaphragm in the fuel pressure control valve of a fuel injector for an internal combustion engine, by providing an overflow conduit in a chamber so that the fuel pressure in the conduit is nearly equal to that in a fuel tank. CONSTITUTION:The pressure of fuel in an overflow conduit 20, which is nearly equal to that (atmospheric pressure) in a fuel tank 1, is transmitted to a second chamber 14 so that the difference between said pressure and the pressure of the fuel being injected through a nozzle 7 is kept at a prescribed value. As a result, in the event of break of a diaphragm in contact with high-pressure fuel, the fuel flows from the second chamber 14 into the fuel tank 1 through the overflow conduit 20 lest the fuel should leak outside. |
