PURPOSE:To form a notched part for the stopper of a light-weight locking mechanism that can lock and release the locking piece surely and easily by forming a notched part by cutting work on a concavity formed by press working on a pipelike material. CONSTITUTION:A concavity 14 slightly thinner than the thickness L1 of a pipelike material 11 is formed on the pipelike material by a press forming machine (figure is omitted). The concavity 14 is cut to a depth l1 by cutting work and a notched part 12 for stopper having desired corner part 12a is formed. The upper edge 14a of the concavity 14 is remaining in the notched part 12 to allow sure and easy locking and releasing of a locking piece 13. Even if a notched part 12, l1 in depth is formed by the cutting work, excess metal l2 in thickness is present on the back of the notched part 12 to make (l1+l2)>L1. Accordingly, the weight of the pipelike material 11 can be reduced by making L1 thin. |
