PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy in color judgment and to expedite the judging speed, by separating the reflected light or transmitted light from an object whose color is to be detected into spectral components by the Bragg diffraction of an acoustooptic element, and receiving separate spectral components having various wavelengths by a light receiving array. CONSTITUTION:Light is irradiated from a light projecting part 3 on the object 4 whose color is to be detected. The reflected light or the transmitted light is inputted into the acoustooptic element 6 through an incident light part 5. Said incident light is separated into the spectral components by the acoustooptic effect, and outputted at a diffraction angle for each wavelength. The outputted light is inputted into the photodiode array 7, which is separated by a distance l. Many photodiodes are arranged in the photodiode array 7. Therefore, the photodiode is determined by every inputting light having a specified wavelength. The intensity of each wavelength can be found from the output of the photodiode. |
