PURPOSE:To obtain a satin-finish back cover, by a method wherein a ground- plating is made on a mirror-finished back cover of a watch, a resist is applied on a part thereof, a satin-finish plating is made on a part except the resist- applied part, and after the resist is placed, a finishing plating is conducted on the whole surface. CONSTITUTION:A back cover of a watch is made of a brass, and a mirror- finishing is made on the whole surface thereof. The ground of the back cover is nickel-plated 5 with 5mum thickness. A usual acid resistant resist ink is pattern- printed on the back surface by a screen printing method, and after it is natrually dried at a room temperature for about 1hr, it is baked at 80 deg.C for 30min. The back cover where resist ink is applied is placed in a satin-finish nickel plating bath, and a satin-finish nickel-plating is conducted on only a part on which a resist is not applied. After washed by water, a usual alloy gold plating 18k with a thickness of 3mum or 22k with a thickness of 2mum is performed on the whole surface of the back cover. |
