PURPOSE:To connect freely terminals having different protocol by converting the protocol of an originating and a terminating terminal into standard protocol through a protocol converting trunk, and connecting both terminals mutually through the standard protocol. CONSTITUTION:The protocol converting trunks 30 and 31 each have two terminals for a channel 15, and one of those two trunks performs communication by the protocol that each terminal has. Then, those trunks 30 and 31 are connected together through standard protocol terminal lines as shown by thick lines. Through this connection, the protocol that the terminals 11 and 14 have is converted into the standard protocol, by which the mutual communication between the both is carried out. A control part 16 after setting such a connection route calls a called terminal 14 and waits for its answer to proceed to the communication between both terminals through the route extending from the terminal 11 to the terminal 14 through the channel 15. |
