PURPOSE:To increase the intensity, the amount of electrolyte held and the oxidation-resistant performance of a separator, and enable the durability and the performance of an alkaline battery to be enhanced by laying fiber layers, which principally consists of an aromatic polyamide fiber having a fineness of 1-3 denier and contain a nylon 6 fiber having a finness of 1-3 denier, on both surfaces of an intermediate layer so as to form a three-layer-substituted fiber layer. CONSTITUTION:An alkaline-battery separator principally consists of an aromatic polyamide fiber, consists of an aromatic polyamide fiber 1 having a fineness of 1-3 denier and a nylon 6 fiber 2 having a fineness of 1-3 denier. Fiber layers containing 10-40% by weight of the nylon 6 fiber 2 are used as a front and a back layer (a), and a fiber layer consisting of 10-30% by weight of the nylon 6 fiber 2 and a nylon 6.6 fiber 3 having a fineness of 1-3 denier is used as an intermediate layer (b). Here, the total weight of the front and the back layers (a) should be larger than the weight of the intermediate layer (b) by over 10% of the weight of the layer (b). After that, these three layers are stacked together so as to form a three-layer-structured web. |
