<p>The valve (1) has a body (2) into which are fixed entry and discharge connections (5,6). These connections have housings (26) for the 'O' ring seals (25). The housings are in the form of 'U'-shaped grooves closed at the top by a sealing ring (27, 28). The spherical plug also has a purge orifice so that, when the valve is closed, the discharge branch (6) is connected to a discharge orifice (23) which has a sintered metal filter (24). During rotation of the plug the seals (25) are forced into their housings (26) and thus have a reduced wear rate due to engagement of the edges of the flow and purge orifices.</p> |
