PURPOSE:To perform position control with good operability, by equipping a control circuit which controls the rotation of a motor so that a head reaches a reference position and also has a memory for storing the presence of the head at the reference position. CONSTITUTION:In a figure, 12 is the control circuit which consists of a microcomputer and has the nonvolatile memory 13 and a break of power supply is detected by a detecting circuit 27, whose detection output is applied to the control circuit 12 and memory 3. Consequently, the control circuit 12 drives the motor 1 by the remaining power source capacity to move the head to the reference position, e.g. a position STOP, and stores the memory with the information showing that the head is at the reference position. When a power source is turned on again, the position of the head is therefore known from the data in the memory 31 and the control is started at the reference position without any trouble. In addition, the memory 13 may be provided outside of the control circuit 12 and may use a volatile memory with an auxiliary power source. |
