PURPOSE:To obtain a titled optical deflector which is operated at a high speed and has high deflection efficiency, by placing a pair of optical deflecting elements whose light is deflected by heat applied to one face of a crystal element, in the right angle direction to each other, and fetching a laser light projected in parallel to a heated face of one element, through the other element. CONSTITUTION:The side of comb-tooth electrodes 21, 22 of a crystal element 10 is heated by heating of the electrodes 21, 22, and a face 23 of the opposite side of the electrodes 21, 22 is held at a constant temperature. When the crystal element 10 is in a heated state, an interval between lattices is wide in the vicinity of the electrodes 21, 22, accordingly, the inter-molecular density is small, the opposite side 23 becomes narrow in its interval, and the density becomes large. The larger a refractive index of light passing through a transparent crystal body is, the larger the density is, therefore, the projected laser light is deflected and emitted as shown by a full line. When 2 pieces of such optical deflecting elements 100, 100' are used, and also these 2 pieces are used in the right angle direction to each other, a signal polarized in the X axis and Y axis directions can be fetched. |
