PURPOSE:To stabilize the operation of a blast furnace by measuring the static pressure on the walls in the bosh parts in the blast furnace as well as the top pressure and tuyere blast pressure of the furnace and evaluating the eventilation characteristics in the respective positions in the height direction of the blast furnace in accordance with the results thereof. CONSTITUTION:Static pressure gages 1A, 1B, 1C are provided respectively to the walls in the middle stage in the shaft part, the top stage in the belly part and the upper stage in the bosh part of a blast furnace to measure the static pressure of the walls. Top pressure and tuyere blast pressure are measured as well. The partial ventilation resistance indices in the respective positions in the height direction of the blast furnace are determined from the measured values obtained by these measurements and absolute ventilation resistance indices, whereby the ventilation characteristic in the respective positions is evaluated. The blast furnace is operated in accordance with such evaluation of the ventilation characteristics, whereby the safe operation of the blast furnace is accomplished. |
