PURPOSE:To provide the titled head contrived to enhance and stabilize the performance thereof, by a method wherein a nozzle main body for constituting a recording head is made from an electrostrictive material, such operations as adhering and fastening are eliminated, and the material is so shaped as to directly constitute side walls of ink reservoirs for vibrating an ink. CONSTITUTION:The nozzle main body 20 is constituted of an electrostrictive material itself, and is provided with ink-conducting grooves 2 communicated respectively with a plurality of nozzle holes 5 and the ink reservoirs 3. A belt form common electrode 21 consisting of a laminate structure of Al, Cr, Cu or an alloy is provided on the ink passage side of an ink-reserving part of the main body 20, and a plurality of separate electrodes 22 are provided at positions opposite to the common electrode 21. By impressing a pulse form voltage between the common electrode 21 and a selected one of the separate electrodes 22, only the part of the electrostrictive material beneath the selected separate electrode 22 is contracted to vibrate the ink in the ink reservoir 3. The vibration is transmitted through the ink in the groove 2 to eject the ink through the nozzle hole 5. |
