PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive silver halide material with superior scratch resistance, by forming a nonphotosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer consisting of an outer layer contg. oil droplets and an inner layer contg. fine particles on a support with a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer in-between. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a non-photosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer (protective layer) consisting of 2 layers as the outermost layer are formed on the same side of a support to obtain a photosensitive silver halide material. At this time, oil droplets are added to the outer layer of the protective layer, fine particles are added to the inner layer, and the ratio of the thickness of the inner layer to the thickness of the outer layer is regulated to >=1.5. The oil droplets used in the upper layer of the protective layer are an oily system independent from the hydrophilic colloidal substance as a binder, and they are finely-dispersed water-insoluble liq. droplet particles.
