The drive-in connector (8,9) is intended for securing a metal rod or tube (2) to a wooden post (1), such as may be used in a climbing frame on a children's playground. It comprises a hollow (15) shank (10) with external (saw tooth) profile to engage a wider portion (12) of a transverse bore (14) in the post, a head (11) with concave underside complementary to the outer post contour, and transverse bores in the head for grub screws (16) or the like to secure the tube (2) inserted in (8) or through (9) the hollow shank. External flats (17) may be provided to drill a transverse bore for a securing pin after assembly.
