A device for adjusting a selectable spacing between two objects, the term "objects" meaning especially a wall and strips for wall cladding which are fitted thereto and are spaced from it. It is intended to compensate for the unevenness of walls. The device has two disc-like rotating parts which can rotate with respect to one another about a common axis. The first rotating part has at least one screw surface facing the second. The second rotating part has at least one projection which is directed against the screw surface or surfaces of the first rotating part.
