<p>The mechanism controls the movement of suspended (21) tools or the like over a working area. It comprises a first carriage (3;4,5,9) with wheels (8) running in parallel U-section rails (1,2) and a second carriage (9) with wheels (20) running in transverse U-section rails (4,5) of the first carriage. Each carriage is driven by a motor (11,22) with reduction gear (10,23) whose output shaft (12 is one) carries at least one gear wheel (13,14;24) meshing with a toothed belt (15,16;25) whose ends are fixed at the ends of the rails (1,2;5). The belt pref. passes over guide rollers (17,18;26,27) either side of the gear wheel to ensure adequate meshing contact arc therewith. FL.</p> |
