In a pneumatic mixer for flowable bulk solids, which comprises a vertically positioned, mainly cylindrical container (10) with a conical fluidised bed bottom (14), which has arranged therein a discharge port (22) which can be shut off, and which also has a charging port, which can be shut off, and a ventilation device, which contains a filter, for the secondary air at the upper end of the container, according to the invention the container (10) is provided with a second fluidised bed (16) which forms the ventilation device and is arranged so as to be invertable about a horizontal axis, the two fluidised beds (14, 16) switching their function when the container (10) is inverted. Such a mixer can be operated without any idle time and, since inversion achieves mechanical rearrangement even of the material which, during pneumatic mixing, is located in the dead zones, ensures uniform mixing of the whole batch while reducing the mixing times. <IMAGE>
