Critical vibrations may occur in the drive train for the wheels of a motor vehicle and these cause such severe drumming noises that vibration absorbers have to be used. Since vibration absorbers are expensive, heavy and take up a lot of space, the invention proposes a vibration-damping swivel joint in which the driving half of the joint is rotated relative to the driven half of the joint against the resistance of springs, stops limiting the relative rotation of the two halves in such a way that the maximum spring torque produced by all the springs together is smaller than the maximum operating torque of the swivel joint.
