<p>The fuel injection pumping device for supplying fuel to an I.C. engine includes a body (10) in which is formed a spill gallery (17) which receives fuel spilled through the spill ports (15) of individual injection pumps. The spill gallery contains a number of inserts (21) which are formed from hardened material and which divide the gallery into a number of chambers. Into each chamber opens a spill port, and from each chamber there is a spill opening (25) communicating with the gallery. The chambers act to minimise the spillage of fuel through one spill port affecting the conditions for spill or fuel flow through the other spill ports.</p> |
