Process for producing spun yarns from or with fibre tows

According to German Patent Application P3137421, spun yarns are produced from or with fibre tows by one of the known open-end spinning processes. In these, the filaments of the fibre tow are torn in the opener device of the spinning station, opened up into individual fibres, brought together to form a sliver and consolidated. It is especially advantageous to use fibre tows having a filament count of less than 2 dtex, preferably of less than 1 dtex, as a standard on the spinning station.
