PURPOSE:To reduce operator's labor and to replace printing paper efficiently by providing a printer with a display device to display the form name of printing paper proper to its printing in every change of the contents of data output from a computer system. CONSTITUTION:In order to inform the form names of various kinds of printing paper to be used by a printer to the operator, the printer 71 is connected to an I/O processing device 3 in a computer system 1 and provided with a form name display device 8 to display the form name of printing paper proper to the present printing operation in every change of the contents of data output from the computer system 1. Consequently, the operator can replace printing paper with the paper specified by the prescribed form name displayed on the form name display device 8 buit in the printer 71 itself. |
