PURPOSE:To efficiently apply precise coating to the surface of a column, by allowing the column to pass through the circle of a coating liquid formed by allowing the coating liquid to flow down in a ring shape from the upper surface of a ring to the inside and lower surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:A coating liquid l flows down along the upper surface 2 of a ring 1 and further flows down along the surface of the inside of the hole 5 of the ring 1 and flows along the under surface 4 of the ring 1 by the affinity with the surface of the ring 1 and the characteristic of the fluid flowing along a contact article. At this time, a conical ring 6 having a circular hole opened to the upper part thereof is arranged below the under surface 4 of the ring 1 so as to form the gap 7 between the under surface 4 of the ring 1 and the ring 6 and a suction device is interposed in the gap 7 to make a coating solution to flow down. By this method, a circle only comprising the coating solution is formed to the surface of the ring 1 and, if a cylinder S having a diameter present in a specific range to the diameter of said circle, good coating can be performed without contacting said cylinder with a material other than the coating solution.
