A metronome cassette consists of a cassette housing which is constructed in such a manner that it can be inserted into and removed again from a cassette player with scanning head, and of a tape-free arrangement inside the cassette housing which generates metronomic timing signals and forwards them to the scanning head for amplification by the amplifier system of the cassette player. A means for adjusting the desired timing frequency is provided.
