<p>A conventional plug with two or more pins has a symmetrical profile and circular section with lugs on the outside to ensure retention in the ceiling socket. The body of the connector incorporates slots in its cylindrical wall to accept the lugs, and can be rotated clockwise through one-sixteenth of a revolution so that its own lugs engage in notches of the socket. The widened end of the body receives the plug, while its tubular part incorporates a stuffing gland for immobilising the flex. The ceiling socket is conventional except in that its plate has notches formed in the periphery of the tapered cylindrical part to engage the lugs. A fixed socket may be coupled to the end of the flex.</p> |
