RECLAMATION FROM STEELWORKS DUST

In a method for reclaiming iron-bearing dust generated during the basic oxygen steel making process, a moist filter cake produced conventionally and comprising the dust is brought into contact with roughly broken up partially cooled slag. The two by-products (cake and slag) are mixed and comminuted on the ground by running a tracked vehicle (or the like) to-and-fro over them. The thus conditioned cake and slag mixture is then treated in a substantially conventional scrap recovery plant.
