PURPOSE:To transport a video reproducing head on a correct track, by comparing a field sequence between a video signal reproduced from the video reproducing head and a reference video signal and transporting the head according to the result. CONSTITUTION:The field sequence of the video signal reproduced from the video reproducing head at present and the reference video signal are compared, and when they are not adjacent with each other, a current flows to a coil 48 to transport the video reproducing head 41 to an adjacent track in an arbitrary direction. If the field sequence is not matched yet, the head 41 is returned to the original track and transported to the adjacent track in the opposite direction. In transportation of the head 41 to the adjacent track in an arbitrary direction, since the transporting range of the head 41 exceeds, the head 41 is returned to the original track when the head is not transported, and the head 41 is transported to the adjacent track in the opposite direction. |
