PURPOSE:To improve workability and to reduce the number of parts by making plugs having corrugated springs and lances by continuous press terminating. CONSTITUTION:Plugs 8 are made by pressing. Patterns are blanked successively and continuously from a metallic band plate, for example, a tinned brass band plate. The entire part of each plug contg. not only a fine hole part 9 but also a corrugated spring 10, a lance 11 and an annular caulking part 12 is lanced or blanked simultaneously. Such pattern is caulked in the next stage, whereby a plug body, the spring 10, the lance 11, etc. are formed. Optical fiber cores 2 are then inserted and positioned continuously and automatically into the plugs with an automatic optical fiber inserting machine and in succession, optical fibers 1 are mounted, and the plugs 8 are disconnected from the strip. No adhesives are required in the stage of mounting the optical fibers. Workability is thus improved, and the number of parts is reduced. |
