A process for making low-sudsing detergent powders is disclosed. The particular feature of the process is the formation of an intimate mixture of an oily or waxy substance and a defined nitrogen compound, an alpha , omega -dialkylamide alkane for example, and the subsequent spraying of the mixture onto either a carrier, or onto spray-dried detergent powder.
