PURPOSE:To reduce the weight and thickness of a floppy disk driving device, by supporting the arm section of the head assembly with the central sloped part of a movable body, whose one end is detained to a movable body which turns interlocking with the opening and closing operation of the door and moves the collet in the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:A disk 2 in which a flexible disk is enclosed in the jacket is guided by a guide block 4. A collet 7 is set so that it can move rockably in the vertical direction against a plate spring 6. A linear motor 10 drives straight a head assembly 8. The fixed end of a head-up lever 11 is fixed to a frame and the free end is supported by the plate spring 6 and, moreover, a sloped part 11c is positioned so that it can support a head arm 8b.
