Mine galleries are supported by spraying simultaneously a polycondensable phenolic resin, such as a resol type resin contg. a catalyst, and glass fibres directly onto the walls or a fabric or grid previously fixed to the walls, by means of a spraying gun provided with a mixer and fibre-cutter. The resin may contain inert fillers such as kaolin. Pref. several layers are applied. The device used for spraying is also claimed as well as the resin compsn. The resin compsn. has good adherence to all minerals, metals, wood and set rapidly even under moist conditions. It is also non-inflammable after polymsn. and is perfectly suitable for coal mines. |
