A housing (11), the circumference of which can be reduced, consists of a collar-shaped part (13), the ends (13', 13'') of which are detachably connected to one another with clamping screws (20) and of a bridging insert (23), abutting from the inside on the said ends (13', 13''). The collar-shaped part (13) is provided with annular flanges (22) on the end faces, directed inwards. The housing (11) encloses a sealing sleeve (12), of an elastomer, which has a C-shaped axial cross-section and is open inwards, the ends of which sealing sleeve (12), designed as sealing lips, are supported on the sleeve web via an annular support. When the clamping screws (20) are not tightened, the unobstructed internal diameter of the sealing sleeve (12) is greater than the nominal diameter of the coupling, related to the tube (30). In order to facilitate the positioning of the coupling on a tube (30) or on a butt joint between the ends of two aligned tubes, also from the radial direction, the sealing sleeve (12) has a separating section (31) running in the axial direction, and the collar-shaped part (13) has two sections, each connected to one end (13', 13''), which sections are connected to one another, like a hinge, in the region opposite the ends (13', 13''), in order to facilitate widening of the housing (11) to more than its nominal diameter, with the clamping screws released. <IMAGE> |
