PURPOSE:To perform a titled junction having sufficient joining strength, by bringing the end of a thin-walled metallic pipe into contact with a stopping part of the main body of an inserting type pipe joint by moving a moving claw of a pressing tool, and joining the main body to the pipe by contracting the diameter of the main body. CONSTITUTION:A ring member 3 is inserted to the outer circumference of a thin-walled metallic pipe 2, which is inserted into the main body 1 of an inserting type pipe joint. Next, a fixing claw 6b of a pressing tool 6 is engaged with the main body 1, and at the same time, the pipe 2 is held by a holding body 6e of a moving claw 6d. In this state, when the claw 6d is moved along the pipe 2 to the side of main body 1 by actuating a hydraulic cylinder 6c of the tool 6, the pipe 2 is moved to the body 1 side to abut on a stopping part 1a by a frictional force between the body 6e and the pipe 2. Here, by moving further the claw 6d to the main body side, the diameter of the body 1 is contracted through the ring member 3, and the body 1 gnaws into the pipe 2 to finish the junction. |
