PURPOSE:To enable the discrimination of charged mateials and the charging of plural pieces at one time in an automatic compressing machine for empty cans, by operating a charging inlet door for empty cans by detection of material quality, detecting the charged materials, which are screened and stored in the machine, compressing, selecting and discharging the materials. CONSTITUTION:When epty cans 9 are inserted into the charging port of a charging mechanism A, and the transmitting and receiving coils 3, 3' of a material quality sensor confirms the prescribed mateial quality, a door 8 is electrically unloked, thus enabling the charging of the cans 9. The cans 9 slide downard and the C ans lighter then an ordinary weight range and the cans heavier than the saim are screened into a containing material H for foreign material by fork plates 17, 17' of a screening mechanism B, and only the empty cans in the ordinary weight range are delivered into a storage part, a storage detecting means and a discharging mechanism C. The storage is detected here, and the empty cans are discharged by each piece into a compressing and selecting mechanism D by the vertical sliding of a limiting plate 28. These cans are compressed between a stationary compressing plate 35, a scraper plate 37 and a movablecompressing plate 39. If the empty cans are made of iron, such cans are contained in a containing part F' by a permanent magnet 40 and the Al cans are contained into a containing part E'. |
