1398321 Combustible gases SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ NV 28 June 1972 [30 June 1971] 30301/72 Heading C5E Gas mixtures containing CO and H 2 are produced by partially combusting a fuel containing free and/or bound carbon, e.g. coal dust suspensions, gasoline, naphtha, fuel oil, natural gas, in a reactor at 1 to 20 kg/cm.<SP>2</SP> absolute, in the presence of an oxygen containing gas, wherein the fuel component and oxygen containing gas component are fed separately through a burner nozzle which produces a central jet of one component and a hollow stream surrounding this jet of the other component, this latter hollow stream being fed to the burner at a pressure which is 0À1 to 3À0 kg/cm.<SP>2</SP> higher than the pressure prevailing in the reactor. |
