PURPOSE:To secure the fixation of steering angle and smoothly perform steering of rudder in an emergency in such a way that an engaging strip is held to be moved forward and rearward in relation to a leaf spring, and being capable of engaging with an engaging hole of the leaf spring. CONSTITUTION:At the time of navigation in the state of fixed steering angle, an operating knob 27 is thrust in the axial direction, and turned, and a stop pin 25A is engaged with a first stop part 26A, the tip part of an engaging strip 25 is protruded out of the lower end of a guide cylinder 26, and its tip part is engaged with an engaging hole 23 of a leaf spring 22. In this condition, even if hands are off a steering wheel 20 and the outboard engine itself is set about to turn by vibration of the engine etc. the engaging strip 25 is held into the engaging hole 23, and the steering angle can be fixed. In addition, when management of rudder is needed in an emergency, a higher force than the predetermined is applied to the steering wheel 20, the tip part of the leaf spring 22 is flexed and deformed downward, and the engaging strip 25 is removed out of the engaging hole 23, so that management of rudder can be effected. |
