PURPOSE:To detect the temp. distributions in a casting mold easily and securely and to improve the life of the mold by disposing thermocouples on the short sides in the combined parts of the mold for continuous casting. CONSTITUTION:Half-holes are punched in the combined parts on the short sides 1 in the combined parts of the short sides 1 and long sides 2 of a casting mold for continuous casting, and thermocouples 3 produced by covering the strands of thermocouples with insulators and forming the same into a foil shape are disposed in said holes. Such thermocouples 3 are connected to lead wires 4 and are drawn upward through lead-out grooves 5. On the other hand, return wires 6 are stuck to one end of the sides 1 to form thermocouple circuits, by which the temp. at stuck points 7 is measured. Sheathed thermocouples are usable in place of the thermocouple foil. Since these thermocouples are easy to mount and have good sealing performance, the temp. distributions of the casting mold are detected precisely. |
