PURPOSE:To promote the form stability, breakdown strength, corrosion and fatigue resistance and flexibility of a bead ring for a vehicle tire, by providing rubber layers of prescribed thicknesses over, under and beside flat hard steel wires of parallel top and bottom and winding the wires and the rubber layers. CONSTITUTION:Flat hard steel wires 4a-4d with an oblong cross section of 2.0mm. in width and 1.3mm. in thickness are coated with rubber 5 so that a horizontal thickness (a) is 0.3 to 0.5mm. and a half of a vertical thickness (b) is 0.05 to 0.15mm.. A layer 6 is thus composed of the wires 4a-4d and the coating rubber 5. The layer 6 is wound and stratified by plurae rounds so that a bead ring 7 is provided. According to this constitution, the form of the bead ring 7 is stabilized, its breakdown strength and corrosion and fatigue resistance are improved, and its flexibility is promoted by prescribing the thicknesses of the rubber 5. |
