PURPOSE:To obtain a cylinder which has a metallurgically jointed Al-Si eutectic alloy layer on the internal surface, by soldering an Si-Al alloy which has a lower melting point than the cylinder of an easily melting Al-cast material with a cladding to the internal surface and performing finish work. CONSTITUTION:The cast cylinder 16 made of Al alloy with superior machinability is roughly worked with regard to only the internal diameter. The cladded material 17 formed by cladding a base material 17b made of Al or Al alloy containing little or a little Si with a high Si-Al alloy layer 17a is worked into a cyliner 15 with the layer 17a out. Then, the cylinder 15 is inserted into the cylinder 16 and a jig for holding the external surface of the cylinder 15 and the internal surface of the cylinder 16 invariably in contact is assembled; and they are heated in a furnace for soldering. Then, the base material 17b and a diffused layer 19b are removed, the soldering mateial 19 melted and solidified is finished to a level A-A, and necessary screw holes 5 and 6 and butt surfaces 7 and 8 of flanges 2 and 3 are finished. |
