<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate retrieving an idiom, by indicating the spelling of a word of an electronic dictionary with a prescribed code and storing the idiom together with the character code. CONSTITUTION:The word is stored in an ROM in the standardized state. The spelling of the word is stored with a code in an area 1. When one data of the ROM consists of 8 bits, 256 characters, symbols, etc. can be stored there. Its part of speech is stored in an area 2, and the address where its translated word is stored is stored in an area 3, and data concerning phonetic symbols are stored in areas 4 and 5, and data concerning modified forms of the word are stored in areas 6 and 7. An idiom code is stored in an area 8, and alphabets constituting an idiom and code * indicating the word stored in the area 1 are stored in an area 9, and the translated word is stored with Katakana (Square forms of Japanese syllabary) in an area 10. Thus, the storage capacity for data concerning idioms is reduced, and the retrieval of idioms is facilitated.</p> |
