PURPOSE:To effectively desiliconize hot metal at a reduced cost by a method wherein Si in hot metal is oxidized by injecting metal oxide into the hearth of blast furnace from tuyeres of near tuyeres. CONSTITUTION:Metal oxides such as iron oxide, manganese oxide, etc., are injected into the hearth 1' with lances 3 from blast tuyeres 2 of a blast furnace 1. Thereby, the reduction of SiO2 to Si at the tuyere-nose of blast furnace is controlled. Because this desiliconization is carried out for the hot metal before tapping, the charge of cost is little, and there is no environmental deteriorations such as fuming and dusting unlike a conventional method wherein desiliconization is carried out at runner, ladle, etc. |
