PURPOSE:To obtain the refining of both stainless steel and plain carbon steels by installing a top-blown lance and plural multi-layer furnace bottom tuyeres, making the total sectional area of the inner tubes of the mutli-layer furnace bottom tuyeres be within a certain range according to the furnace capacity, and enabling burnt lime together with refining gas to be injected from the inner tube. CONSTITUTION:Composite top-and bottom-blowing converter 1 is equipped with top-blown lance (2) and mutli-layer furnace bottom tuyere 3, and the annular clearance of multi-layer furnace bottom tuyere 3 is connected with the supply tube 10 of innert gases such as Ar, N2, etc. as tuyere protection gas and of cooling gases such as hydrocarbon, CO2, etc. For the multi-layer furnace bottom tuyeres 3, the total sectional area of their inner tubes per ton of steel changes from 0.12-0.21cm<2> acconding to the capacity of furnace 1, each inner tube being connecting with the piping 9 leading to the supplying source of O2 gas at a varialbe pressure of 3-15Kg/cm<2>, the piping 9 being connected with the supply hopper 6 of burnt lime, and further connected with the Ar and N2 gas sources through the valve 8. |
