PURPOSE:To provide possibility of giving the traveling wire a strong and stable braking force with adjustability by furnishing a a braking member having an L shape, allowing two edges of the wire to contact it, and by pressing the wire against the braking member using compressed air. CONSTITUTION:To use this arrangement, a wire 10 is threaded through a curtain provided at an inlet and outlet of this device's body, and inserted along the internal surfaces of braking members 16, 17 arranged in L shape. Then the wire 10 is connected with a winder, and a compressed air generator device 15 is put in operation to blow off the compressed air out of holes 13a, 14a provided in upper block 13 and side block 14 so as to press the wire 10 against the braking members 16, 17. Then the winder is actuated to wind up the wire 10, and a tension' will be applied to the wire 10 by the frictional force and pneumatic resistance between braking members 16, 17. This tension of the wire to be wound can be adjusted easily to a proper value by changing the air pressure at the compressed air generator device 15. |
