PURPOSE:To obtain an ambient temperature electromagnetic shield adapted for a superconductive generator by producing an alloy which mainly contains Ni, a metal element which lowers the Curie point of the Ni, has nonmagnetic property, a specific resistance lower than the prescribed value and is strengthened by precipitation. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic shield is produced by Ni-based alloy which mainly contains Ni, a metal element (Cu or the like) which lowers the Curie point of the Ni, has nonmagnetic property at an ambient temperature, a specific resistance at the ambient temperature lower than 70muOMEGA.cm and is strengthened by precipitation. This Ni-based alloy contains by wt% less than 0.25% of C, 0.1-0.5% of Si, 0.1-1.5% of Mn, 0.1-0.5% of Ti, 2.5-5% of Al, 15-33% of Cu and the residue of Ni, and is adaptively formed of austenite structure having gamma prime phase. For example, the ambient temperature electromagnetic shield 11 at the outermost end of the rotor of a revolving field type superconductive generator is formed of the above alloy.
