<p>PURPOSE:To recover Zn as dust having the high concentration of Zn, by blowing Zn-contg. iron-making dust into molten pig iron to capture an iron part with the molten pig iron and to evaporate contained Zn, and then blowing the Zn vapor into water. CONSTITUTION:Zn-contg. dust discharged from an iron works, together with oxygen or air ejected through an oxygen-blowing pipe 2, is injected from a hopper 1 through a flexible tube 3 and a lance 4 into molten pig iron 6 inside a mixing car 5. Fe and Zn oxides in the dust are reduced with carbon contained in the molten pig iron. The part of Fe is captured and absorbed in the molten pig iron, while Zn concurrently reduced and evaporated is injected through a duct 8 into water inside a wet separator 10 by a suction fan 9. Fe and Zn are reoxidized and separated as each oxide from the other in the water by the difference between their specific gravities. The heavy Fe oxide and the light Zn oxide are separably recovered in states useful as an iron-making source and a Zn-refining source from dampers 10-4 and 10-6, respectively.</p> |
