<p>The electrically operated mechanism has electric motor driven mechanisms mounted at front and rear of the seat. The electric motors have a reduction gearbox and the gearbox output drives a double crank mechanism to raise the edge of the seat without generating horizontal displacement. The double crank mechanism is driven by a threaded rod with a nut running on it. The nut is coupled to one of the crank linkages so when the driver closes a switch to adjust the seat the motor is energised, driving the screw mechanism and displacing the crank linkages to raise or lower the seat cradle. A torsion bar is used to compensate the driver's weight.</p> |
