The device combines prerecorded and optional data on a magnetic tape for simultaneous play-back on a tape player. The tape recorder used has a conversion unit which probes the pre-recorded information from its reserved tape section. It converts the information to electrical signals which are amplified in an amplifier, and then combined in a mixer with other signals representing the optional data. The thus combined signals are passed through another amplifier to a further conversion unit which converts them for recording on the tape section reserved for both kinds of data. The optional information involved is represented by electrical signals from, for example, a microphone attached to the tape recorder. (Provisional Basic advised week 83/41).
