PURPOSE:To obtain a thin transformer with the leakage flux from the core and coil being made as small as possible by providing a peripheral core made of an electromagnetic steel plate on the peripheries of two frame cores. CONSTITUTION:A pillar-like core 9 constructed of several sheets of silicon steel plates, non-crystalline magnetic alloy plates or iron-nickel alloy plates stamped out in an I-shape, or of ferrite is arranged on the plane opposite to frame cores 7, 8 in such a manner that the core 9 divides the core 7 or 8 into two and a coil 11 consisting of first and second windings is installed through a coil bobbin 10. Moreover, on the peripheries of the frame cores 7, 8, there is installed a peripheral core 12 formed by winding several turns of an electromagnetic steel plate such as a silicon steel plate, a non-crystalline magnetic alloy plate or an iron-nickel alloy plate, or formed of ferrite. The first and the last ends of the peripheral core 12 made of the electromagnetic steel plate are fixed by means of welding or bonding in the shape of a square frame, the width a thereof being equal to the sum of the height of the frame cores 7, 8 and that of the pillar core 9. |
