<p>The over-glazing frame is for fixing to an existing hinge mounted window leaf. The frame has a groove for the second glazing pane and has a joint weather sealing it to the existing leaf. The frame conceals its own hinge and locking mechanism and allows hinge location without impeding the reinforcing corner pieces of the frame. The frame comprises double-U profiled strips, the U-shaped openings being at 90 degs. The opening facing towards the existing window receives the hinges (8), the corner pieces and the bolt (17) mechanism. The second, outer opening forms the groove receiving the secondary glazing pane (7). One wing (11) of the second opening includes a dovetailed groove (12) to receive the sealing strip (13,14).</p> |
